Profiction Pigeon Fantail-mail Club

Are you profiction/proship and feel overwhelmed by the state of the world, the increasing censorship, and struggle to feel safe about being allowed to just have fun with fiction, fandom, shipping characters, identity exploration, and so on?

Wouldn’t it feel so cozy and reassuring to come home after a long day to receive a physical envelope you could hold in your hands full of art, stickers, and letters that are helpful, affirming, and reassuring about being profiction?

What if one of those monthly letters was actually written by a flock of fandom-loving pigeons from an alternate universe Earth (AU Earth) who understand how you feel, learned how to read, and want to share their world, stories, and who they are to your life directly?

Then this mail club is for you!

Highly curated with a very specific mission statement, purpose, and meaning, this mail club is the only one of its kind, literally, and is storytelling made to be enjoyed by profiction-aligned individuals who need a safe way to feel it and is very dear to my, The Artist’s, heart.

Each Monthly Letter includes:

• A letter “From The Pigeons” where they’ll share their lives, learned experiences, stories, jokes, and heavy hearts to the world and individuals they are trying to connect to.
• A letter of “The Artist’s Wishes” discussing their ideas, thoughts, and lived experiences around being profiction, queer, etc. with insight and advice and how one can hopefully stay sane and navigate such a difficult time and place.
• A 5 x 7 art print themed around the “From The Pigeon” letter
• A 4 x 6 illustrated affirmation card with a reassuring, motivational statement to those who are profiction/proship
• Two die cut (usually holographic) vinyl stickers
• And often additional, to-be-determined each month extras that fit the themes of the letters such as a bookmark, a postcard, a short comic strip, character cards, a sticker sheet, etc.
• The Artist’s endless gratitude to be able to make their stories their life to share to others

Mail Club Guidelines:

• The last day to join for the upcoming mail month is the 20th. For example, the last day to join for September’s mail is on August 20th. Every sign up starting the day after August 20th will be for October’s mail.
• Letters are sent out on or just after the last day of the month!
• Your subscription will automatically renew on the day you signed up. By subscribing, you acknowledge this is your responsibility to manage and agree to our shipping and cancellation policies.
• Shipping and sales tax is already included in the cost. Letters are sent via snail mail without tracking. 

The main letter you’ll receive once every month is part of a larger story where you get to meet and connect with a flock of talking, reading, writing, fanfiction and fandom-loving pigeons who live in a cold, desolate, alternate reality (AU) Earth that is slightly ahead of our current Earth’s trajectory in their current, real-time year of 2036.

Despite AI behaving as unpredictable, unaware, and misfiring as its art, it was forced onto everyone by becoming integrated into every major part of daily life ranging from law-regulating, history keeping, to good behavior tracking. Because of this, people can no longer access information not overseen by it, and can no longer learn new ideas, or understand their own identities and make sense of their own lives or each other.

As human minds began to rapidly atrophy and devolve under AI, it was instead the pigeons who evolved enough awareness to begin learning new ideas, acquire higher reasoning, and who actually began making sense of the world they are a part of. 

Flocking together, they taught one another how to read, write, and understand human language after being shown the ropes by a little, fanfiction-loving, shoe-wearing pigeon who got his own headstart learning to read from the yaoi fanfiction he oversaw on the phones of in-the-closet queer fangirls during their commutes to work on the subways and buses. 

Being at the mercy of human society and mediocrity and needing an escape, the pigeons began to retrace recent human history while filling in the AI-rewritten gaps by writing their own speculative fiction to understand where things went irreparably wrong. What they found while dusting off the cobwebs, was that during the death of it being socially acceptable for humans to use fiction and by extension, fandom, to safely and freely explore and express one’s inner feelings, heartbreaks, horrors, and passions about their senseless world to make sense of it was the same moment not enough people could hear the warning signs when surveillance began to destroy and walk back every advancement and right that humans had spent millennia fighting for. 

The pigeons would love to have pen-pals from other universes and, speaking of such- How did they learn to send letters across parallel dimensions??? Do people in their reality know they can talk? Why does one of them wear shoes?? What is their Earth’s fiction like and what do they like to ship? Some of the many questions that will be answered by them as stories they want to share to you.

Alongside this main letter, The Artist also wishes to share their own personal letter discussing their feelings on what it means to them to be profiction, queer, and how maybe all of us can still be directly actioning in ways to help curate and create a safer world around us, even in the face of hopelessness.

Between all of this, there will also be occasional, extra goodies from The Artist’s other character stories in the letters from time to time. 

Part of the mail club proceeds are also planned to also help support The Artist’s ambition to actualize larger visions for their stories and cartoons.

Profiction Pigeon wants to be a whole world and The Artist would love to fund and put out video audiobooks detailing the main story filled with original music, colored illustrations, animatics, even some animation if the budget allows, and even accessible, supplemental education material to share online to everyone for years.
